THE CAMP
Everywhere you look…there is art! This week-long immersive art camp will be filled with new ways of seeing, hands-on creative expression, field trips to museums, art studios, and public art. Students will experiment with location drawing, painting, assemblage, bubbles, and collage. Each day will include discussions on creativity, dedicated sketchbook time, and conversations about perspective. Throughout the summer, we will run three sessions with two age groups: 5-7 year olds and 8-12 year olds. Tuition $450. All material included.
THE OUTCOME
Our team has 20+ years experience in arts education. They designed a unique curriculum for "Everywhere You Look." Each day will begin and end with a grounding creative activity. Your child will use a new art method each day to discover perspective, explore curiosity, and practice craftsmanship. In addition to Radius teaching staff, three guest artists will lead projects that will result in completed works of art. Throughout the week, we will visit art studios, view public art and exhibitions at the Tannery Arts Center, MAH, MK Contemporary Art and downtown. Using their new methods of looking, students will have fun discussions about artwork and thoughtful ways to engage with art. On our final day, students will display their works at Radius Gallery, getting the full artist-gallery experience, start to finish. Families are invited to attend the Art Show.
THE SPACE
"Everywhere You Look" will be held at Radius Gallery, located at the Tannery Arts Center. This creative setting is 1900 square feet, located on the ground level with neighboring art studios and outdoor space with public art. All art materials are provided for each student, along with a daily snack. Each student should arrive with a sack lunch that does not require refrigeration. Class size is limited to 15. Parking is free.
